MICA Admission Test (MICAT) is an admission test conducted by Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, for admission to its Post Graduate Diploma in Management - Communications (PGDM-C) program. Approximately 8000 students register each year to compete for a total of 180 seats. MICAT is held twice a year (MICAT I and MICAT II)
MICA, unlike other admissions tests, such as the CAT, is a multidimensional computer based examination, which assesses candidates in Divergent Thinking Ability, Written Communication Ability, General Awareness about contemporary social and business subjects, focusing primarily on areas relevant to media, marketing, advertising & current affairs. MICAT also includes a component for psychometric profiling to assess a candidate’s leadership potential.
The exam is conducted in three stages:
• Stage 1: CAT/ XAT/GMAT
• Stage 2: MICAT.
• Stage 3: GE & PI
A candidate’s MICAT score commands 50% weight in the shortlisting process at MICA, while the remaining 50% goes to the candidate’s CAT/XAT/GMAT scores. The candidates who appear in MICAT-1 get a better choice of test centres and GDPI Centres compared to MICAT-II test takers.
MICA, Ahmedabad conducts its own admission test MICAT for the candidates who apply to MICA for admission to PGDM-C programme on the basis of CAT/XAT/GMAT scores. The PGDM-C is the flagship Candidates will have to take at least one of the three eligibility exams: CAT 2018, XAT 2019 or GMAT.
